This program educates undergraduate and graduate students about sustainable agriculture by teaching them about natural ecological, environmental and sociological principles. The program has an organic garden at the Preserve and facilitates an active compost project using fresh vegetables and fruit waste generated from the Graham Center.

Future House USA

Faculty and students from FIU’s College of Engineering and Computing were invited by Chinese officials to build an energy efficient house to display at the 2008 "Green" Olympic Summer Games. Future House USA, the house designed by FIU, is going to be part of an environmentally friendly community that will be located near the site of the Games. It is the only U.S. entry in the initiative. Other countries participating include Japan, Italy, Spain and Sweden.
